The challenge with this project was to design a poster that not only was able to function technically as a 3D artifact, but also had to say something about the subject matter and its relationship to a show on the 3D display of type. The event, “3D Type”, hypothetically asked the questions about the role of typography in our lives. I chose to portray the event from a historical vantage point—looking back at type so as to get a better vantage point on the future.
